DOROTHY SHARON LILLARD TIEMANN

Mrs. Dorothy Sharon Lillard Tiemann, 78, died May 2, 2022 in her home.

Sharon was born May 20, 1943 in rural LaGrange, Mo., to Jerry Porter and Mary Frances Sharpe Lillard. She was married to Robert Joe Tiemann on November 10, 1960 in Quincy, Ill.

Sharon was a graduate of Maywood Elementary School and LaGrange High School. Sharon accepted the Lord at age 7 and grew up in the Maywood Baptist Church. She worked for Stanley Home Products for 50 years and became a division manager for the tri-state area. When she was semi-retired she cleaned houses and her home church (Nelsonville Baptist).

Sharon and her family lived in Monroe City for 10 years and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Monroe City. Sharon served the Lord by being a Sunday School teacher, singing in the choir, leading youth ministries and youth choir, vacation bible school, leader for GA’s, YWA and WMU. She played the piano and organ in all the churches she attended for over 55 years. She started playing the piano at the age of 13. While in Monroe City, Sharon helped start and became Co-Founder of Birthright.

Sharon enjoyed her remaining years on their farm near Nelsonville, Mo. She loved to garden and work in her large beautiful yard. She was also an active member of Nelsonville Baptist Church. It was a blessing to be part of two loving communities and two church families.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Tiemann, Ewing, Mo.; her sons, Trent Tiemann, Paris, Mo., and Rodney (Jackie) Tiemann, Philadelphia, Mo.; daughter, Robin (Dave) Graves, Washington, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Wesley (Shawna) Tiemann, Matthew (Caitlin) Tiemann, Laycie (Zach) Kosark, Allison – soon to be Chaney (Tom), Hailey (J.J.) Chatfield, Brace Tiemann, Tanner Tiemann and Tessa Tiemann; nine great grandchildren, Mesa, Maylee and Merit Tiemann, Declan and Jasper Tiemann, Cayson and Camden Kosark and Jaden and Hadlee Chatfield; brother, Jerry (Sandy) Lillard, Shelbina, Mo.; two sisters, Mary (Roger) Evans, La Grange, Mo., and Georgia (Rusty) Rothweiler, Monroe City, Mo., and many nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Thelma Karen Lillard.

Funeral services were held May 6, 2022. at the Nelsonville Baptist Church with Jerry Lillard and Kenneth Clair officiating. Pallbearers: Wesley Tiemann, Matthew Tiemann, Brace Tiemann, Tanner Tiemann, Zach Kosark, J.J. Chatfield and Tom Chaney. Honorary Pallbearers: Mary Martha Prayer Group, Joe Pettit, Matt Bridgeman, Carl Graves and Gene Schaefer.

Music provided by: Allison Graves, Pianist playing In the Garden and Great is thy Faithfulness; Shannon Bright, Amber Neely and Emma Bright, Vocalists, singing Amazing Grace and recorded selection “Thank You” by Ray Boltz. A reading ofHow Do You Live Your Dash recited by: Chris Schaefer. Visitation was held preceding services.

Burial was in the Nelsonville Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to Nelsonville Baptist Church or to Community Loving Care Hospice.
