DOROTHY DAY

Dorothy B. Day, 90 of Lewistown, Missouri died April 17, 2022 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

The daughter of Amon and Beulah Mae Marmor Adkins was born on November 17, 1931 at Windsor, Illinois. She was united in marriage to J R Day on April 6, 1955 at Canton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1995.

Dorothy was a member of the Lewistown Christian Church where she also taught Sunday school. She retired after 40 years as a clerk for the R.E.C. at Lewistown. She liked to tend to her garden and help run the farm.

She is survived by a daughter, DeVonna (Rick) Larsen of Wentzville, Mo.; two granddaughters, Lynnette (Glen) Bodine of Wentzville, Mo. and Jennifer (Robert) Berger of St. Charles, Mo.; six great grandchildren; sister, Margie VanMeter of Lewistown, Mo.; brother, Edward Adkins of White City, Oregon; and several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, four sisters, Betty Jeffers, Nellie Bernath, Juanita Hayes and Helen Randol, three brothers, Glenn, Harley and Keith Adkins.

Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Lewistown Cemetery, Lewistown, Missouri with Rev. Carolyn Leaver officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 1 PM until the time of services at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown, Missouri. Pallbearers: Glen Bodine, Robert Berger, Zachary Bodine, Zwaylon Berger, Glenn Adkins and Bruce Randol.
