MICHAEL TULEY

Michael J. Tuley, 64 of Columbia, Missouri, died March 19, 2022 at his home in Columbia.

The son of William P. and Hildegard Wilhelm Tuley was born on June 28, 1957 at Quincy, Illinois.

Michael was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Canton, Mo. and the Knights of Columbus in Columbia, Mo. He served in the U.S. Army and was a hospital pharmacist at University of Missouri Hospital at Columbia, Mo., St. Mary’s Hospital at Jefferson City, Mo. and Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Mo. He attended kindergarten in Munich, Germany, graduated from Canton High School in 1975 and Northeast Missouri State University in 1979 with a degree in communications, international theatre and drama. He was involved with the Old Ice House Theatre in Hannibal and the Maplewood Barn Theatre in Columbia. He loved watching sports, especially soccer and Cardinal’s baseball.

He is survived by his mother, Hildegard Tuley of Louisiana, Mo.; sister, Barbara Tuley of Hannibal, Mo., uncle, Horst Wilhelm of Munich, Germany and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, an aunt, Trudy (Stefan) Kostiuk, and uncles, Robert Tuley and James Elmer Tuley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Sunday, April 10, 2022 at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Canton, Missouri led by Father Callistus Okoroji.
Inurnment will be in Queen of Peace Cemetery at Ewing, Missouri with Military Honors by Lewis County Memorial Post #578.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 12:30 PM until the time of services at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Canton. Honorary Pallbearers: Dave Davis, James Davis, Max Bernhardt, Martin Owens, Mark Abbott, Fred Givens and Sonny Winslow.

Memorials may be made to the Queen of Peace Cemetery or the Alzheimer’s Association or the Maplewood Barn Theatre.
