Grain Engulfment Rescue Training
March 16, 2022

Western Lewis County Fire and Rescue Protection District hosted the University of Missouri Fire Rescue Training Institute’s Grain Engulfment Rescue class held March 12 at LaBelle. The eight-hour training course was held outdoors in 25 degree weather with over 25 regional attendees. Being a rural community and having several emergency grain bins rescues in the last several years, the training is important to not only Lewis County as the local departments are often called to assist neighboring towns and counties in emergency situations. All Lewis County fire departments are consisted of volunteers who spend many hours training for various scenarios.
A healthy Lewis County requires great community news.
