LINDA RAE ROUTT

Linda Rae Routt, 64, of Lewistown, Mo., died Feb. 16, 2022 at Country Aire Retirement Estates.

Linda was born February 4, 1958 in Quincy, IL. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Dorothy Bartz. She married Randy Routt Sr. on August 2, 1980 in Maywood, Mo. He survives.

Linda is survived by two children: Bessie Goerlich (Carlos Palacios) of Ewing, Mo., and JR (Nikki) Routt of Lewistown, Mo. Her six grandchildren were the loves of her life: Jenna and Levi Routt of Lewistown, Mo.; Carson, Cruz, Conlee Goerlich and Charly Palacios of Ewing, Mo.

Also surviving are three sisters and one brother: Lavon Mathes, Maywood, Mo.; Sally Laws, Lewistown, Mo.; Sandy (Kevin) Meany, Maywood, Mo.; Wayne (Sherry) Bartz, Maywood, Mo.; three brother’s-in-law: Charlie (Edith) Routt, Calif.; Jeff (Cheryl) Routt, VanWert, Ohio; Kemper (Chris) Routt, Delphos, Ohio.
She also had numerous nieces and nephews she cared for as if they were her own. She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Dorothy Bartz, a brother-in-law, Travis Mathes and her mother-in-law, Marjorie Snyder.

Her family would like to give a very special thanks to the staff and residents at Country Aire where she had made several friends and who took the best care of her. Linda thought of the staff as her extended family and loved sitting outside visiting with everyone there.

Linda enjoyed reminiscing about the good times throughout her life; including going on the annual “cousin’s trip”, taking as many kids camping with her that she could fit in the car, and spending time with her grandkids, friends, and family.

She loved doing crafts and was always happy to send a card to let others know she was thinking of them. Over the years Linda and Randy fostered numerous kids- gaining a special “son” David Mitchell. Every one of her nieces and nephews looked forward to spending time at Aunt Linda’s growing up.

Funeral services were held February 21, 2022 at the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing with Rev. Lance Bonnell officiating. Visitation was held Feb. 20, 2022. Pallbearers: Jimmy Mathes, Bubba Mathes, Zack Mathes, Curtis Meany, Tyrone Buckner and Kevin Meany. Honorary Pallbearers: JR Routt, Carlos Palacios, David Mitchell and Wayne Bartz. Music: Kiss an Angel Good Morning, Dancing in the Sky and There You’ll Be.

Burial was in Maywood Cemetery, Maywood, Mo.
The family suggests memorials be made to Bessie Goerlich to help defray Linda’s final expenses.
