BETTY DANCE

Betty S. Dance, 87 of Lewistown, Missouri died February 6, 2022 at the Country Aire Retirement Estates at Lewistown.

She was born September 12, 1934 at Monticello, Missouri the daughter of Virgil “Tot” and Lucy Rightmire Richardson.

She was united in marriage to Jerry M. Dance on March 27, 1954 at the Monticello Methodist Church.

Betty was a homemaker and served as a member of the Heartland Resources Board, the Northeast Library Board and served for 12 years on the General Federation of Women’s Club of Missouri on the Executive Board and was President of the organization 1996-1998. She was a member and Sunday school teacher of the First Baptist Church of Ewing, Missouri. She was also a member of the Lewis County Memorial Post #578 Auxiliary and the We Modern’s Club for over 60 years.

She is survived by her husband Jerry M. Dance of Lewistown, Mo.; three children, Becky Peck of Liberty, Mo., Debra (Ervin) Uhrig of Branson West, Mo. and Greg (Terri) Dance of Warsaw, Il.; grandchildren, Brandon (Rachel) Peck of Kearney, Mo., Jeremy (Jacque) West of Lees Summit, Mo., Lindsey (Kip) Ackerson of Kansas City, Mo. Gabriella (Michael) Gauthier of Minneapolis, Mn., Gloriana, Vincenzo, Ginevra, Divinia and Sterling Dance of Warsaw, Il., and Phillip Uhrig of Branson West, Mo.; great grandchildren, Bennett and Pierce Ackerson, Audrey, Liam and, Corbin West, Skyelynne and Brayden Peck, and Nathanael Gauthier.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandsons, Nathaniel Dance and Kaleb Lowery (Peck), brothers and sisters in law, Maurice (Leota) Richardson and Roy (Anna Mae) Richardson.

Funeral services were held February 10, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Ewing, Missouri with Rev. Richard Ulrich officiating. Visitation was held preceding services. Pallbearers: Brandon Peck, Jeremy West, Kip Ackerson, Phillip Uhrig, Ryan Primm and Roger VanMeter. Honorary Pallbearers: Simon Thrower, Robert Wallace, Danny Mittelberg, Jack Fountain and Daniel Griesbaum.

Burial was in the Lewistown Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Ewing.
