Hummel Named Bowler of the Week

Culver-Stockton College bowler Carlee Hummel has been named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women’s Bowler of the Week for her performance at the Clarke Invitational last weekend in Dubuque, Iowa.
Hummel, a junior from Pittsburgh, Pa. (Burrell HS), becomes the first Wildcat bowler to earn the player of the week distinction in the eight years of the program. She earned the accolade after placing second overall among the 75 bowlers in the event and earning all-tournament team honors for the second time this season. Hummel registered 1,080 total pins in five games on Saturday, an average of 216 pins per game. She rolled games of 200 or more in four of the five games, recording scores of 206, 223, 227 and 234. Hummel is averaging 186 pins per game this campaign.
The Wildcats qualified second for match play in the event and went on to win the tournament championship by sweeping the best of three series 2-0 against Wartburg (Iowa) in the semifinals and Grand View (Iowa) in the championship match. It is the first tournament championship in program history.
C-SC returns to action this weekend, Feb. 5-6, at the Kohawk Invitational in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
