Blind Date with a Book

February 02, 2022

Canton Public Library is excited to bring back “Blind Date with a Book” during the month of February.
Patrons are encouraged to come to the library and visit the “Blind Date with a Book” display where they will find an assortment of wrapped books. The identity of the book will be hidden, but each will have clues written on the wrapping that give hints about the contents.

Patrons will check out a mystery book, unwrap it at home and give the book a try for at least 50 pages to determine if the book and the reader have made a connection. Sometimes it is a perfect match, other times, well...even Cupid misses sometimes.

Each participant is encouraged to “rate their date” by filling out a “Rate Your Date” form inserted in each book. Even if the date was a dud and the reader could not make it past 50 pages, the “Rate Your Date” form can still be filled out.

For each form returned, the patron will be entered in a drawing for a special prize.

Library staff assures readers that if they don’t like all the books they take home, that’s okay. The books’ feelings won’t be hurt and there are plenty of other fish in the sea.

All “Rate Your Date” forms must be turned in by March 15, 2022.

Canton Public Library is open to the public from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Tuesday through Friday; and 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturdays. Call the library at 573-288-5279, visit them on Facebook at Your Canton Public Library, email cantonmopubliclibrary@gmail.com, or visit the website at www.cantonmopubliclibrary.org.
