DOLLY ANN RUTHERFORD

Dolly Ann Rutherford was more than a friend. To anyone she met; she became family. She was loved by more people than one person’s heart could have handled. She changed lives without lifting a finger and made things better with just one smile. She was a beautiful soul and had a personality larger than life. Dolly added light to every room she walked in and left it shining even when she was gone.
Her food was known county wide but so was her kindness. There was not a single person she would turn away, especially if they were hungry. She brought a light into so many people’s lives, she never knew they needed. With that she has left a mark on so many hearts and for that we are forever grateful. Dolly passed in her home with her loving husband by her side on January 26, 2022. She was 91 years young and lived a life full of love. Dolly was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and loyal friend.
Dolly was born on January 18, 1931, to her loving parents, Ida May Meador, and Lamontie Ward. She grew up with 3 brothers and 5 sisters. Dolly met Kenneth when they were 15 and 16 years old. They were married on March 14, 1952, and have been married for 70 wonderful years. Their love was a story book love, something little girls wish for. She had found the person she wanted to be with for the rest of her life and never let go. If you ever knew Dolly, you never knew her without Kenneth by her side.
Dolly is survived by her loving husband Kenneth Rutherford, and their three sons: Randy (Jan), Michael (Julie), David; Grandchildren: Leann (Scott) Harrison, Dustin Rutherford, Dallas Rutherford, Deanna (Robbie) Roberts; Great-Grandchildren: Alaina Sutton (Skylar Thompson), Wyatt, Delaney, Danielle and Demi Roberts and Great-Great-Grandson: Harrison Thompson. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and her 8 siblings.
