BETTY LOUISE SHANNON

Betty Louise Shannon, age 86, of Canton, Missouri, passed away January 11, 2022 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
Betty was born March 9, 1935 in Beckley, West Virginia, a daughter of Emery and Alma Delawter McClung. She married Harold F. Shannon on July 19, 1969 in Tarentum, PA. He passed away July 13, 2015.
She worked at Quincy Paper Box prior to opening her own daycare in Canton. Betty enjoyed spending her days taking care of children as if they were her own. She quickly became known as “Grandma Betty” to all. Her family and friends meant the world to her. Betty enjoyed singing karaoke, dancing, playing Bingo, and made the best sugar cookies. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canton and enjoyed sharing her faith.
Betty is survived by daughters, Joan (James) Roland of St. Cloud, FLa., Kathleen (Barry) Pentecost of Ballwin, Mo., and Rhonda Brown of Hannibal, Mo.; sons, Shawn (Michelle) Shannon of Franklin, Va., Richard (Crystal) Adamire of Chiefland, Fla., Tim (Diana) Adamire of Montrose, Ia.; daughter in law, Lori Shannon of Canton; brothers, Emery (Bonnie) Mason of Steubenville, Ohio, and Robert (Bonnie) McClung of Columbia, Pa.; sister, Donna (Richard) Wade of Ivanhoe, N.C.; 21 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husand, son, Kyle Shannon, step-son, Daniel Lee Shannon, grandsons Chris and Josh McIntosh, great grandson Hunter Rule, great granddaughter Morgan Sue Bell, sister, Doris Gasbarro and her brother, William McClung.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m at Davis Funeral Home in Canton, Mo., with Pastor Brian Stone officiating.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until time of service. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton, Mo.
Music: “In the Garden”, “One Day at a Time”, “You Light up my Life”, and “Amazing Grace”.
Pallbearers will be Chance Shannon, Lance Brown, Shawn Shannon, Austin Smith, Corey Martin and John Anderson
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ryan Pentecost, Daiken Martin, Logan Martin, Ethan Adamire, Mike Baker and Kenneth Patrick
The family suggests memorials be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in care of Davis Funeral Home.
