Maywood News

by Loretta Bringer

This has truly been a week of Thanksgiving with nice weather and farmers are completing their harvest for the year. This week promises to be just as nice and a little warmer.

This Sunday was the first day of Advent and South Union Baptist celebrated the advent with a nice worship service. The candlelighters were Joe and Jana Hattey and special music presentations were by the choir and John Carter. Memorial ornaments were dedicated in the names of Darrell Bowman, Paul Durst, Donald and Nina Eisenberg, Randy and Sand Brinkman, Dale Eisenberg, Janice Carter, Anna Margaret and Clyde Carter, Beulah Jones, Larry Jones, William Jones, Russell and Grace Tate, and Roy and Virginia Weber.

Thanksgiving dinners were enjoyed by a number of families in the area and Kevin Meany and Darrell Eisenberg said they had immediate family for the day. Our special guests were Ann and Julie Brink and Ann Haugh. Children make any holiday fun and Luke; Jacob and Elijah made the day special for all of us.

The big blow-up balloons are a big trend in decorating for Christmas and Friday around noon there was one bouncing along the road on number six. I guess he had escaped from someone’s yard, and I hope they found each other again.

It has been a week of having computer problems and Bobby fixed my computer for me. If you have news around Maywood please let me know.
It is the season of giving and each day is a “Gift” to us. Enjoy it and celebrate the season!
