ELSIE DORAN

Elsie M. Doran, 93 of Lewistown, Missouri, died September 25, 2021 at the Country Aire Retirement Estates at Lewistown.

The daughter of Lloyd R. and Laura A. Spidle Scoggin was born south of LaBelle, Missouri on April 22, 1928. She was united in marriage to William R. (Bob) Doran on December 24, 1946 in Canton, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on December 26, 1974.

Elsie attended the Turpin School north of Lewistown until the third grade.  In 1939, she started school at the Lewistown Grade and High School and graduated in 1947.  She worked as a day worker with Bob at Deer Ridge Lake for the Missouri Department. of Wildlife for Upland Game and then moved to Hunnewell, Mo. and continued to work at the Hunnewell Lake Fish Hatchery for the Missouri Department of Fish Hatcheries.

After Bob died, Elsie went to work in 1975 at Prairie View Rest Home at Lewistown and then Country Aire Retirement Estates at Lewistown as an aide and a cook for 22 years. She moved to Lewistown Senior Housing in June of 2006.  She enjoyed fishing, cooking and going gambling at the boat with friends, Violet Osterle and Louise Dunn. She also loved visits from her grandkids and great granddaughters.

She is survived by a daughter, Cindy (Bill) Camden of Glenwood, Mo.; granddaughter, Nicole (Justin) Richardson-Escue of Quincy, Ill.; two great granddaughters, Willow and Raven Escue; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Stice, Clyde Scoggin, LeRoy Scoggin, Betty Brumbaugh, Norma Jean Myers, Doris Ann Franks, Grace Joachim and Delmar Scoggin.

Cremation rites have been accorded and no services are scheduled. Inurnment will be in the Deer Ridge Cemetery.
