EDITH K. WHITE

Mrs. Edith K. White, 102, of the Lewis County Nursing Home at Canton, Mo., formerly of Ewing, Mo., died died January 12, 2016 at the home.

She was born August 1, 1913 near Maywood, Mo., a daughter of John C. and Ethel Smith Katzell. On May 14, 1933 she married Wm. Goings. He preceded her in death in June 3, 1963. She later married Raines Wiseman who preceded her in death. On March 25, 1973 she married Edward White who also preceded her in death in February 1977.

Edith attended the Durham United Methodist Church. She enjoyed baking, quilting and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Terry (Betty) Goings and Daniel (Elizabeth) Goings both of Durham; nine grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren; one sister in law Helen Katzell of New York and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, three sons, Melvin in infancy, Samuel and Rodger Goings, two daughter in laws, Donna and Faith Goings, one brother Carl Katzell, two sisters, Gladys Mason and Dorothy Lair, one grandson John Goings, two great-grandchildren, Chase Holman and Lisa Schreck.

Funeral services were held January 18, 2016 at the Durham United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Martin officiating.Visitation was held January 17, 2016 at the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing. Pallbearers: Bill Goings, David Goings, Mike Goings, Rusty Schultz, Justin Snow and Jeremiah Goings. Honorary Pallbearers: John Bevis and James Spratt. Music: Marge Durst, organist; Debbie Faulkner, vocalist.

Burial was in Durham Cemetery, Durham, Mo.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Durham United Methodist Church, Lewis County Nursing Home Auxiliary or the charity of the Donor’s Choice.
