Myrna Daughtry

Dick (Mayor) and Noreen Whitney is enjoying having his brother and sister-in-law,  Shawn and Lisa Whitney of Savannah, Ga visiting for a few days.  We would like to thank both Shawn and Lisa for their military service with Shawn being retired from the US Marine Corp and Lisa being a retired US Army Captain.

Mark and Deanne Whiston, Debbie Harris and Dick Pulse, and Dan and Myrna Daughtry were all dinner guests last Saturday of Lynn and Debbie Daughtry at the Keokuk Yacht Club.  That was the first time the guests had ever been there and it is a beautiful setting right along the Mississippi River.

The St. Patrick community was saddened to hear of the passing of Rose Moore.  Rose was the daughter of Milton and Peggy Moore and attended  St. Patrick Grade school.  She was such a kind soul and very artistic with a career as an art teacher.  She applied her artistic talents to the repainting of the St. Patrick statue located in front of the Shrine of St. Patrick.

Birthday wishes are extended to Mark Whiston (8/31) and we think it is high time for him to retire.

Happy Anniversary wishes to Bruce and Melody Uhlymeyer (8/26) celebrating 49 years of wedded bliss.

Dan Daughtry spent last week checking on his honey bees around the county.  He was assisted by Dick Pulse of Canton in opening and checking the bee hives and providing feed (sugar water).

Bruce Uhlmeyer, Mark Whiston, Jim Gorrell and Dan Daughtry all enjoyed a successful morning last week catfishing on the Mississippi River.
