MARIA E.SMITH

Maria Ellen Smith, 73, of Centertown, Missouri, died August 7, 2021, at her home.

She was born May 10, 1948, in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of the late Rollie Robert and Marjorie Ellen (Van Blair) Moore. She was united in marriage on July 3, 1971 at Parkview Church in Quincy, Illinois to Terry Haviland Smith who survives at their home and they just celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
She graduated from Quincy Senior High School in Quincy, Illinois in 1967. She is a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Missouri. She was employed by Motorola, Micro Energy, Paper Box. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, gardening, loved flowers, reading her Bible every year, but most importantly she loved the time she got to spend with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons; Lonnie Smith (Sarah), Blue Springs, Missouri; Chad Smith (Sheila), Centertown, Missouri, six grandchildren; Kinsley, Taelyn, Laney Smith all of Blue Springs, Missouri and Cashton, Willow and Joplyn Smith all of Centertown, Missouri; two brothers, Ronnie Van Blair (Vicky), Stronghurst, Illinois and Rollie Moore (Diane), Quincy, Illinois, two sisters, Donna Jean Twaddle, Aiken, South Carolina and Carolyn Click (Stan), Ewing, Missouri and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; Larry, Marvin and Neal, one sister; Maxine; one brother-in-law Robert William Twaddle II; two sister-in-laws; Madonna and Joni.

Graveside services and burial were held August 15, 2021. at the Durham Cemetery in Durham, Mo., with Pastor Roger Stevens officiating.
The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
