CASEY RENEE (LAY) BELL

Casey Renee Lay Bell, 41, of rural La Belle, Mo., died July 28, 2021 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

She was born June 7, 1980 in Quincy, Ill., the daughter of Douglas K. and Renzetta J. (Cottrell) Lay. She married Christopher Douglas Bell on June 20, 1998 in La Belle, Mo. From this union four children were born; Morgan Rheanne (Bell) Pridemore, Corbin Alayne Bell, Christopher Douglas Bell, Jr. and Mason Charles Bell. Morgan Pridemore is married to Joshua Pridemore and they live in Lewistown, Mo. They gave “Mimi” two beautiful grandsons, Jeremiah and Jackson, whom she loved with everything. Corbin lives in Knox City, Mo., with special friend, Zach Myers. CJ and Mason still live at home.
Casey worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois most of her life. She acquired a second family “Casey’s Crew” who she loved spending time with, pranking one another and laughing. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer in October 2014. She was an avid supporter of Relay for Life and American Cancer Society. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Lewistown where she was baptized along side her husband, Chris.

She enjoyed camping, floating, shopping, going to the casino, and game nights. Most importantly, she enjoyed being with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Chris Bell; children, Morgan (Josh) Pridemore, Corbin Bell (Zach Myers), CJ Bell, and Mason Bell; grandsons, Jeremiah and Jackson Pridemore; her father and mother, Doug and Renny; brothers, Joe (Shannon) Lay of Rural Knox City, Mo., and Lane Lay of Canton, Mo.; mother-in-law, Penny Corbin of Knox City; brother-in-law, Jonah Lewis (Julie Green); sister-in-law, Tawnia Corbin; nieces Kodie Lay, Brittany (Ryan) Kelly; nephews, Mont (Gracie) Corbin and Junior Davis.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Everett Jr. and Anna Cottrell, Donald and Doris Lay, uncle Danny Lay, father-in-law, Junior Corbin and grandparents-in-law George and Shirley Bell.

Funeral services were held August 2, 2021 the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, Mo., with Pastor Ted Middleton officiating. Music: Sissy’s Song by Alan Jackson; Angels by Randy Travis; Remember When by Alan Jackson. Pallbearers: CJ Bell, Josh Pridemore, Zach Myers, Chris Bell, Joe Lay, Lane Lay, Jonah Lewis and Aaron Lay. Honorary Pallbearers: Mason Bell, Missy Walls Battles, Kris Ransom-Smith, Wendy Chitwood, Jackson Pridemore and Jeremiah Pridemore. Visitation was held August 1, 2021.

Burial will be in East Midway Cemetery near Canton.
The family suggests memorials be made to Lewis County Relay for Life or the Education Fund for Jeremiah and Jackson Pridemore.
