WILLARD F. ZAHN JR.

Willard F. Zahn Jr., died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
He was born December 22, 1924 in LaGrange, MO, the son of Willard F. and Hattie B. (Ford) Zahn Sr.

Mr. Zahn served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired as a sergeant for the Alton Police Department after 36 years of service. On August 27, 1947 he married the former Julia Urban in Glen Ellyn, IL. She preceded him in death on July 31, 2017.

Surviving are two sons, Frederick W. Zahn (Deborah) of Spring Grove, IL and Christopher W. Zahn (Mary Massa) of Edwardsville. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Kathryn Clemons, Christopher Zahn, Kelly Schmidt, Trevor Zahn and Grace Zahn, and six great grandchildren, Julia and Chris Clemons, Sam and Emmett Zahn, Casey and Joseph Schmidt. Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a sister, Lucia Johnson.

Private graveside services will be held at Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton, MO.
