The Canton Public Library invites everyone to a Guest Artist Reception on Thursday, May 6 at 6 p.m. Canton resident, Terry Hawkins, will be the first artist to display in the library’s new Guest Artist Series. Terry’s artwork will be on display at the Canton Public Library, 403 Lewis Street, during the month of May.
All are invited to meet Terry at the opening reception. The event is hosted by the Canton Area Arts Council and the Canton Public Library.

Terry attended art school in Hawaii and Southern California and has participated in gallery shows as far away as Thailand and as nearby as Canton, MO. Terry uses a variety of mediums to create colorful abstracts. He has lived and worked in 6 countries, and currently calls Canton home.
Accompanying Terry’s artwork will be a display of papier mache teacups created by the young artists in Paisley Goembel’s 6th grade Canton R-V art class.

The library invites local artists of all ages to apply to become a Guest Artist. Photography, painting, drawings, collages, textiles, hanging mobiles and other easily hangable art forms will be considered. Sculpture will also be considered.
