DENNIS BODEN

Dennis Roy Boden, 70, died March 17, 2021 following a battle with cancer. Dennis was born on February 7, 1951 in Quincy to Donald "Don" and Rosemary (Rossiter) Boden. Dennis' time on earth was spent having lots of fun and helping others. In his early years, Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After his return home, he married Linda Williams in June,1971. Together they raised their two children, Dana Lake and Darren Boden and their niece Angelique Boden.
Dennis continued to serve others in the National Guard and the Army Reserves where he advanced in rank to Captain before retiring with nearly 23 years of faithful military service. Dennis later retired from the Quincy Police Department and worked for 3 years as an officer in LaGrange, Missouri.
Dennis was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church as well as the Quincy American Legion Post Number 37 where he served as Legion Commander for 3 years and with the Honor Guard.
Surviving ishis wife Linda, children, Dana Lake, Darren Boden and Angelique "Angie" Boden; grandchildren, Abbigayle Lake and Brandon Lake; siblings, Donna Williamson, Tom Boden, Ralph (Jill) Boden and David (Merry) Boden, and many nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and sister Kay Steffen.
Funeral services were held March 22, 2021 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church.
Interment in Greenmount Cemetery with military honors conducted by the United States Marine Corps Funeral Honors Detail and the Quincy American Legion Post 37.
