VEDA WINKLER

Veda Pearl Winkler, 94 of LaBelle, Missouri, died February 28, 2021 at the LaBelle Manor Care Center in LaBelle.

The daughter of Wylie and Grace Wood Hawkins was born on February 19, 1927 at Williamstown, Missouri.

Veda was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Canton, Missouri. She liked to restore antiques and shared this hobby with her best friend, Belva Smith. She also liked jigsaw puzzles, reading, being at the Mississippi River, bird watching, people watching and fishing. She loved her animals and shopping, especially at yard sales.

She is survived by four children, Judith Smith of Canton, Mo., Carolyn Sue (“Butch”) Carper of Canton, Mo., Barbara Ann Krewet of LaBelle, Mo. and John Winkler, Jr. of LaBelle, Mo.; several grandchildren including, Robin Bracey, Unity Seay, Larry Joe Carper, Jr. and Bobbie Odum; many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Vivian Weatherby, Nina Hutchesson, Betty Snodgrass and Maxine Nelson and three brothers, Jack, Robert and Julius Hawkins.

Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of services at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton, Missouri with Pastor Dawn Gerard officiating. Pallbearers: Larry “Butch” Carper, Larry Joe Carper, Jr., Magnum Carper, Remington Carper, Larry Joe Carper III and Colt Carper.

Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery at Canton.

Memorials may be made to the Lewis County Relay For Life-ACS.
