PAUL H. GOSNEY

Mr. Paul H. Gosney, age 101, of Memphis, MO passed away, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 3:35 p.m. at his residence in Memphis, MO.

He was born on the family farm east of Durham, MO on January 12, 1920 a son of John William (Bill) and Anna Gnuse Gosney. He married I. Faye Higley in Quincy, IL on January 16, 1944. She passed away on August 25, 2012.
Paul worked for Moorman Mfg. for over 30 years, retiring in 1982 and after retirement worked at Matthews Hardwood. After their two children graduated from High School in Quincy, Paul and Faye moved to rural Liberty. Paul loved to deer hunt, fish and do carpentry which he sold at Quincy’s Farmers Market for a number of years. He made many wooden treasures, including tables and chairs, cradles and kid toys.
He always enjoyed farming. He enjoyed going places, visiting with family and friends and was an avid reader, especially westerns. He and Faye attended the Liberty Christian Church for many years and he was currently attending the First Christian Church in Memphis.

He has two children, Sharon (Donald) Sherwood of La Grange, MO and Roger (Snookie) Gosney of Memphis; five grandchildren, Travis (Natalie) Gosney of Mantica, CA, Triena Gosney of Ewing, MO, Kara Gosney of Halfway, MO, Allison (Lance) Campbell of Memphis and Evan (Kayla) Gosney of Parkville, MO; 14 great grandchildren; three brothers, Gerald Gosney of Ewing, Oren Gosney of Durham and Ray (Lily) Gosney of Maywood and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Lawrence Gosney, Leigh Gosney and one great grandson.

Funeral services were held January 25, 2021. at the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing with Brother Jack Sumption officiating. Pallbearers: Family Members. Music: How Great Thou Art and Onward Christian Soldiers. Visitation was held prior to services.

Burial was in Durham Cemetery in Durham, MO.
