Vaccine Information For Lewis County

January 12, 2021

Lewis County Health Department administrator Debbie Sommers says that they are waiting for information about the vaccine but at the current time, none of the Covid-19 approved vaccines are available at the Health Department. The department shared the following information on their Facebook page: We are aware that nursing homes in the county have either already started vaccination of residents and staffs or have a scheduled date to receive their vaccine. We also know that healthcare workers in the county have been receiving their vaccination at their place of employment or through established providers. We have made application through the state to be approved to order vaccine, but do not currently have any COVD-19 vaccine.

The Lewis County Health Department continues to recommend the following guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid-19: Good hand washing, wearing a mask, maintain six-foot social distancing and limit social gatherings. Area hotline numbers include Blessing Health System Hotline: 217-277-3504; Quincy Medical Group Hotline: 217-277-4001; and Hannibal Regional Hotline: 800-845-7405.

Sommers said as soon as information is available on the vaccine and where and when it will be available for Lewis County residents, the Lewis County Health Department will share that information.
