CAROLINE BESCO

Caroline Sue Besco, 83, of Canton, Mo., died November 17 at Lewis County Nursing Home.
Caroline was born September 13, 1937 to Arthur and Lillian Brown in Dover, MO and later graduated from Canton High School in 1954. She went on to major in music at Culver-Stockton College where she further honed her vocal talent singing in the choir and in many school productions. Caroline shared her love for music with nearly everyone she knew. She sang in the choir at every church she regularly attended until her health limited her ability.

It was while she attended Culver-Stockton that she met and later married Elvin Glenn Besco. He would go on to become a Lutheran pastor, and together Caroline and Glenn would move to Ohio, Chicago and finally Detroit. While they may have divorced in 1984, Caroline remained on good terms with Glenn until he died in 1995.

Caroline became a teacher after college and would return to teaching after both her sons had grown. She also worked as a medical assistant part time. After she retired, Caroline went on to enjoy traveling, and seeing her granddaughters grow up.

She is survived by her sisters Mary Snyder and Kay Bader of Canton, Mo., and Trudy Pascoe, Rogersville, Mo., her oldest son Timothy and his wife Younghi Besco, Lubbock, Texas and her three granddaughters Stephanie, Stacy and Kimberly.
She is preceded in death by her sister Charlotte Pepple, her brother Jerry Brown, and her youngest son Thomas.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date in Forest Grove Cemetery at Canton, Missouri.
