Rodeo, Car Show and Tractor Pull Planned

Several events are planned this weekend in Lewis County. The second annual Mississippi River Car Club show will be held at the Mark Twain Casino in LaGrange on August 22, beginning at 3 p.m. Attendees can enjoy BBQ and music while looking at the classic cars. Anyone who would like to be in the car show can contact Rick Chipman at 217-257-0482. Car clubs expected to attend include Early Tin Dusters, Tri-State Lugnuts, Loafers and Mississippi Rat Pak. Everyone is welcome.
The LaBelle Rodeo is set for Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22, Rodeo start time is 8 p.m. Mutton Bustin is cancelled for this year. The Boot Cut Band will perform Saturday Evening after the Rodeo event. A parade is set for Saturday, August 22 at 3 p.m.
At this time CDC recommends social distancing, wear a mask and hand sanitizing. Organizers ask families/groups to sit together and social distance. We respect adults decision about wearing mask. There will be extra hand sanitizing stations. Organizers are installing barriers in the food stand. Activities are outside. Children 11 years and under have free admission and must be accompanied by an adult.
The LaBelle Rodeo Grounds are located on Route K in LaBelle.
The third annual tractor pull will be held August 22 in Williamstown beginning at 10 a.m. Free admission. Spectators should bring lawn chairs and a tent for shade. There is a sled hook-up fee for participators in the pull. The Hornet Cafe restaurant will be open special hours 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The restaurant opened several weeks ago. Troy Wiley and Mary Kirchner are the owners. Raffle tickets for a Browning BL 22 long rifle, lever action or cash will be available at the Hornet Cafe until 3 p.m. The Williamstown Community Center will also serve food including chicken, pulled pork and hot dogs and drink.
