Canton Public Library Reopens
Canton Public Library will be opening to the public on Thursday, May 28. Temporary hours will
be Tuesday - Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a limit of ten patrons in the building at one
time. Masks are recommended, and patrons are reminded to maintain social distancing.
Curbside Pick-Up will continue indefinitely.
To help welcome patrons and guests back to the library on May 28, the library announces that it is now fine-free. It is the goal of the library to provide equal access to information, services, and opportunities that empower, enrich, and enhance the quality of life for all. Because late fees are often a barrier to that access, eliminating them will allow all in our community to utilize the resources the library offers.
If you had a late fee on your account prior to the library going fine-free, your late fees have been
waived. However, fees for lost or damaged materials remain.
Remember, “no fines” does not mean “no responsibility.” Fourteen days after the final
due date, materials that are not returned will be considered lost and patrons will be billed the
replacement cost. Patrons may return materials at any time to have the replacement cost
canceled.
