Canton Fires

Two fires occurred within hours in Canton in the early morning of January 20, 2019. A fire at 309 North Third street in Canton happened around 1:30 a.m. Four people at home were able to make it out of the home safely and no injuries were reported. Another fire near 1100 College street, happened around 12:30 a.m., was contained to the attic and no injuries were reported. Canton firefighters had to deal with below freezing temperatures and icy roads. The Canton Public Works department also assisted at the scenes to help with the ice covered roads and sidewalks. The American Red Cross is assisting the families.
