Schroeder Fitness Center is located at 410 Clark Street in Canton. Vic and Alisha Schroeder are the owners. The gym offers local residents a way to stay in shape, improve their mobility, reduces stress, lose weight and improve overall health. Monthly memberships are available and the center is available for members 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There is a wide variety of workout equipment including treadmills, rowing machine, leg press, weight training and lifting equipment. Some members work out every day, others a few times a week or whenever they can fit exercising into their schedule. The 24 hour operation makes it convenient and available for every type of schedule. A kid?s area will soon be offered to help those wanting to workout without needing childcare. Books, games, movies, and other activities will be available to entertain children while their parent exercises.

The Schroeder?s are both involved in the business and both have careers in physical fitness. Alisha is a physical therapist. She is employed by Blessing Home Care and makes home visits around Lewis County. Vic Schroeder is currently employed at Highland High School. He is assistant football coach assistant girl?s basketball coach and assistant coach for varsity track. He was the high school varsity softball coach at Canton R-V. The 2008 Canton Lady Tigers won third place in Missouri Class 1 State Softball with Schroeder as their coach. Schroeder said most people come into the gym with a workout planned, but if someone needs assistance, he is always happy to write a program for them to follow.

Changing rooms and lockers are available. Individual and family memberships are offered. Discounts available to students, veterans, law enforcement and fire department members.

The Schroeder Fitness Center is a safe, well lit facility. Housed in the former Canton Hardware building, some of the former elements such as the cabinets along the west wall, are still in use. Each month a different contest is offered, such as most push ups, most pull ups, etc for those who want to test their ability or reach goals. Members are also offered a chance for a free month?s membership by signing up every time they visit.

Schroeder Fitness Center opened in 2010 across from Canton Casey?s and moved to the former Canton Hardware building in 2016. Vic and Alisha have three children Dylan, Preston and Reagan.
