Canton School Earns Incentives

October 09, 2019

The Canton R-V School District was recently awarded $12,842.60 after earning incentives for implementing energy-saving measures through Ameren Missouri’s Bizsavers Energy Efficiency Program.

The energy-saving measures were the result of lighting improvements made as part of the Proposition K.I.D.S. capital improvement project. As part of the project, the Canton R-V School District replaced all lighting in the District with new LED fixtures and bulbs.

"This incentive is a one-time payment that is in addition to the annual savings that the District will realize from the energy upgrades completed this past summer", said Superintendent Jesse Uhlmeyer. "We are thankful for the help we received from CTS Group in securing these funds and we would like to recognize Ameren Missouri for making this program available to schools across the state."

According to Uhlmeyer, these funds will be used to offset capital expenses for the District in the upcoming year.

Bizsavers offers a range of incentives on a variety of energy-efficient services and equipment for Ameren Missouri electric business customers. Eligible business customers include nonprofit organizations, schools, government institutions, restaurants, retail stores, gas stations, religious organizations and more. In addition, the program provides a variety of incentive plans to fit different project types, sizes, and budgets.

According to Ameren Missouri’s official website, standard incentives are paid on a per-unit-installed basis and are available for a variety of qualified improvements. For energy efficiency improvements not found on the standard incentives list, customers may be eligible for a custom incentive.

“Virtually any cost-effective energy efficiency project qualifies for a BizSavers incentive, including specialized systems and equipment. Custom Incentives are calculated based on the projected annual energy reduction,” the website indicates.
