KAREN S. EGBERT

Karen Sue Egbert, 75 of Wyaconda, Mo., died September 10, 2019 in the Lewis Co. Nursing Home in Canton.

Karen was born June 16, 1944 in Terre Haute, IL, a daughter of John and Edith Harvey Dochterman.

Following her graduation from Wyaconda High School in 1962, on June 24, 1962, she was united in marriage to Danny Eugene Egbert in Arbela. He died July 16, 2013.

Survivors include her mother, Edith Dochterman of Kahoka; daughter, Tracy Lynn (Glen) Kaylor of LaGrange, Mo; two grandchildren: Kyle (BreAnna) Kaylor of Durham, MO and Emily Kaylor (Cory Turner) of Quincy, IL; two great-grandchildren: Maggie Kaylor and Chance Turner; sister-in-law, Glenda Dochterman of Keokuk, IA; nieces, Sherry Hall of Keokuk, IA and Becky Dochterman of Lexington, MO; as well as several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father; husband; son, Scott Egbert; brother, John Dochterman, Jr.; and nephew, Lonnie Dochterman.

As the owner and operator of the former West Side Café for 21 years, Karen fed many residents of Wyaconda. The next fifteen years she was employed by Charles Industries in Canton.

Karen was a member of the former Wyaconda Methodist Church; a 56 year member of Kahoka Chapter 40, O.E.S., joining the former Wyaconda Chapter on January 20, 1963, and a member of the Wyaconda Red Hatters. Karen loved Christmas all year long and enjoyed furnishing her home in her favorite color, red, which fit right in with the decorations she kept up all year long. She loved watching John Wayne movies and Q.V.C. Shopping Network.

Funeral services were held September 13, 2019 at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Rev. Lance Bonnell officiating.

Burial was in the Wyaconda Cemtery.
