Yesteryear Photo
September 18, 2019

This is a photograph of the Ewing High School that was built in 1925, to replace the school building that had burned in March of that same year. The first school year was 1925 - 1926. Some of the teachers that first year were: Mr. J. Russell Ellis, who taught Citizenship and Hygiene; Mr. John A. Andrews, taught Agriculture; Miss Erma Waggener taught English and World History and Miss Edith Porter, who taught Algebra. Some graduates from that year were: Louise Fohrman, Florence Gaus, Ruby Herst and Cecil Reese. The school building you see here has, over the years, been added-on to make it what many people in the area remember today. Photo and information provided by Glenn Chipman.
