GARY HECKELSMILLER

Gary LeRoy Heckelsmiller, 59, of Barry, Ill., died May 24, 2019, at the Barry Community Care Center in Barry.

He was born December 22, 1959, in Quincy, Ill., to Robert G. and Lucille Irene (Berry) Heckelsmiller. Gary was a Navy Veteran who loved to ride motorcycles, fish and hunt mushrooms. He enjoyed his friends and liked to have a good time. 

He is survived by two sisters, Sharon Lynn Swank of Barry and Karen Ann Stephens of Petersburg, Illinois; brother Robert G. Heckelsmiller of Maywood, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great nephews and a great niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Gary's life was held June 3, 2019, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pittsfield.

Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry was in charge of arrangements.
