NORMAN CRAWFORD

Norman R. Crawford, 82, died Oct. 8, 2015, at St. Johns Hospice, in Springfield, Ill.

He was born April 4, 1933, to Louis and Gladys (Slater) Crawford.

Norman was a US Navy veteran. He attended Culver-Stockton College and University of Illinois. He was formerly employed by Hadley & Worthington Architects; Evans, Works and Costa Advertising; Barker-Lubin; the State of Illinois and the City of Springfield.

He is survived by his children, Curt (Kristin) Crawford of Austin Texas, and Susan (Feeny) ODriscoll of San Francisco, Calif., and their mother, Jane Crawford of Springfield, Ill; grandchildren, Braden and Emma ODriscoll, of San Francisco, Calif.; and a sister, JoAnn Steinbeck of Canton; a cousin Barb Sanders and her husband, Marvin, of Springfield, who were his caretakers for several years. Other cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Judith Syrcle.

A memorial gathering and service was held Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, in Sringfield, Ill. Private family inurnment was in Diamond Grove Cemetery, Jacksonville, Ill.
