WILMA HENDLE

Mrs. Wilma L. Hendle, 97 of Canton, Missouri, died February 21, 2019 in the Lewis County Nursing Home at Canton.

The daughter of Walter and Elizabeth Ketha Gruber was born on March 6, 1921 at Canton, Missouri.

She was united in marriage to John H. Hendle on September 24, 1960 at Berwyn, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2006.

Wilma was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in rural Canton. She was also a member of American Legion Otto Bruner Post 170 Auxiliary, La Grange-Canton V.F.W. Auxiliary, Lewis County Historical Society, Progressive Neighbors Club and The Canton Civic Club.

She is survived by her first cousin, Jo Brown, a Godchild, Susan Knoche and numerous other cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton, Missouri with Rev. Barb Hagerla officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of services at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton. Music: Vocalist-Bill Dorris and pianist Karla McReynolds. Pallbearers: Kevin Dodd, Carson Dodd, David Baxter, Trent Baxter, Steve Clark, Kirby Clark and Luke O’Laughlin.

Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church or the Lewis County Historical Society.
