MELVIN TIEMANN

Melvin Lee Tiemann, 82, passed away October 25, 2018 at an assisted living center in Elk Ridge, Utah. Melvin was born August 18, 1936 in La Grange, Missouri, the second son of Henry and Forest McCullough Tiemann.

Life took Melvin on many roads, from Missouri and Illinois to Texas, Utah, Oregon, Arizona, and then back to his roots where he enjoyed living the last two decades of his life in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and finally back in Missouri. He made many friends and always had time to help unfortunate travelers who crossed his path. 

Melvin was a talented carpenter and could build almost anything. He also loved fishing, gardening, and spending time in the mountains and woods. He had an active mind and was a prolific poet, penning verse both poignant and pun. Selected poems can be found at https://divlve.wordpress.com/.

Melvin is survived by his daughters, Lee Anne (Mario) Rose of Buffalo, NY; Susan (Richard) Sholz of Quincy, IL; Laura Roberts and Melinda Littleton, both of Fredericksburg, VA; whom he shared with his first wife, Alice Lee Solter of LaGrange, MO. 

Additionally he is survived by the following children from later marriages: Deborah Nelson of Parowan, UT; Diane Tiemann of South Jordan, UT; Joan (Ken) Brown of Amarillo, TX; Melanie (Cliff) Briggs of Amarillo, TX; David (Sandy) Tiemann of Hereford, TX; Paul (Mary Ann) Tiemann of Orem, UT; Melissa (Ryan) Hardman of Salt Lake City, UT; Todd (Jessica) Tiemann of Orem, UT; and Matthew (Courtney) Tiemann of North Bend, WA. 

All 41 of Melvin's grandchildren number among his survivors. 

Melvin's surviving brothers are Arnold Tiemann of Canton, MO, Robert (Sharon) Tiemann, of Ewing, MO, and Roger (Nancy) Tiemann of La Grange, MO. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ida Sue Harris, from Durant, OK; daughters Judy Daynes and Amy Tiemann; and his brother Arnold's wife, Nancy. 

A private memorial service will be held. Melvin requested cremation and interment will be in La Grange, MO.
