DOROTHY WOOD

Dorothy Jane Wood, age 86, of Bethel, Mo., died August 10, 2018, in Macon Health Care Center in Macon, MO.

She was born November 25, 1931, in rural Knox County, MO, the daughter of Lewis and Blanche Dillinger Corbin.

On August 21, 1949, in Edina, MO, she united in marriage to Milton Wendell Wood and he preceded her in death on March 6, 2007.

Dorothy received her education at Sweet Oak Grade School and graduated from LaBelle High School in 1949. She was a housewife and homemaker and drove a school bus until her retirement in 2001. Dorothy lived all her married life in Shelby County. She enjoyed collecting hummingbirds, quilting and John Wayne Movies. Dorothy was a member of the Bethel Christian Church.

Surviving are three children, Daniel Milton (Ginger) Wood of Clarence, MO, Wendeline Sue Brumbaugh of Bethel, MO, and Cindy Lou (Mike) Shuck of Monroe City, MO, one brother Kenneth Dale (Janice) Corbin of Chesterfield, MO, seven grandchildren, Patricia Anne Brawner of Maywood, MO, Joseph Ray Brumbaugh of Bethel, MO, Jason Lewis Brumbaugh of Bethel, MO, Kendel Milton (Ann) Wood of Clarence, MO, Logan Jantzen (Tiffany) Wood of Shelbina, MO, Paige Nicole (Kendle) Smith of Shelbyville, MO, and Megan Jo Carlyle of Columbia, MO, nine great grandchildren, Kylie, Jodi, Dalton, Avery, McKenna, Judge, Jayden, Anna and Austin, two great-great grandchildren Sadie and Lane and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Betty Elaine Rasmussen and Patsy Romaine Isom, two sons-in-law Melvin Brumbaugh and Troy Caryle and a grand daughter-in-law Tracy Brumbaugh

Funeral services were held August 13, 2018, in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO. Reverend Delbert Earlywine officiated the services. Musical selections: How Great thou Art and Go Rest High On That Mountain. Casket bearers: Joe Brumbaugh, Jason Brumbaugh, Kendel Wood, Logan Wood, Austin Jones and Dalton Brumbaugh. Honorary bearers: Patty Brawner, Paige Smith, Megan Carlyle and Ty Miller. Visitation was held prior to services.

Burial was in the LaBelle Cemetery.
