RUTH MARIAN WATERKOTTE

Ruth Marian Waterkotte, 92, of Quincy July 12, in her home. Ruth was born in LaGrange, Mo., on June 27, 1926, a daughter of August William and Alvina (Wagner) Sturhan. She married Orville Waterkotte on September 9, 1950 in Quincy's St. Boniface Catholic Church, he survives.

Ruth was a homemaker. She attended grade school in LaGrange and was a graduate of Quincy Senior High School. She was also a graduate of Gem City College. Ruth was a member of St. Francis Solanus Church. Her life was dedicated to her family and grandkids.

In addition to her husband Orville, survivors include her children: Anne (Alan) Betts of Quincy; Martha Lubben Waterkotte of Champaign, IL; Sara (Brad) Schulte of Fowler, IL; Terri (Sam) Newlon of Hamilton, IL; Mary (Jack) Terwelp of Quincy; Janice (Don) Miller of Quincy; Rose (Chris) Heller of Ft. Smith, AR; Joseph (JoEllen) Waterkotte of Quincy; Gregg (Jana) Waterkotte of Clayton, IL, and Phillip (Danielle) Waterkotte of Quincy.

She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and newphews and sister-in-law Margie Sturhan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Gladys Sturhan, her six brothers, Wallace, William, Theodore, Howard, Robert, and Glenn Sturhan; one great-granddaughter and two great-grandsons.

Funeral services were held July 18, 2018 in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home and Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church by Rev. Don Blaeser, O.F.M.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Catholic Church or to the Quincy Notre Dame Founda
