LAURIE ANN PROTSMAN

Laurie Ann Protsman 56, of Lagrange, Mo., died July 4 2018 at her home. She was the wife of Ronald J Protsman they shared 19 years together, 17 years married. She was born December 25, 1961 in Decatur, IL to Francis and Jeanette Wensing.

She was a 1978 graduate of Quincy Notre Dame. She was a employee of JC Penney for 13 years, and spent 14 years at Mark Twain Riverboat Casino until retiring to enjoy more time with family during her last years of battling breast cancer. She made several lasting relationships throughout her life time.

She attended the Crossing in Quincy, IL with family, where she grew in her relationship with Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a very devoted, mother and grandmother. Some of her hobbies she enjoyed were playing board games with grandkids, cards with friends and family, shopping, vacationing, and helping others. She will be remembered by her heart of gold and her strong determination for life.

She is survived by her husband Ronald of Lagrange, her sister Debbie Bryant (Craig Pierceall) of Quincy, children Chad Wensing (Melissa Roberts) of Quincy, Amanda Hills (Meredith Booker) of Quincy, Julie Cheney (Josh Moody) of Quincy, Joey Protsman ( Ashley) of Savannah, GA, Bryan Protsman (Brianna) of Savannah, GA. Grandchildren Allie Wensing, Alexis Roberts, Skyler and Ciarra Lankey, Brayden and Lilyan Cheney, Maci Moody, Kailey, Peyton, and Cooper Protsman, Carsyn and Jordyn MIller. Several nieces and nephews and a Very dear friend of 17 years Rhonda Catching of Chicago. Laurie was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held July 7, 2018 at the Davis Funeral Home in La Grange with Pastor Roger Carter officiating. Burial was in Mark’s Cemetery in La Grange. Visitation was held July 6, 2018 in the Davis Funeral Home in La Grange.

The family suggests memorials be made to Northeast Missouri Hospice or to the James E. Cary Cancer Center.
