Foster Grandparent Program In-Service and Annual Recognition

The Heartland Resources, Inc. Foster Grandparent Program In-Service and Annual Recognition Luncheon was held on June 15, 2018 at the Golden Corral in Hannibal.  W.T. Johnson, Program Director, gave the welcome and other opening remarks.  Minutes and related information of the May 15, 2018 in-service were read by Mary Jo Austin and Julie Scott.  The Professional Development Topic was Employee Safety, Injuries.  The Personal Development Topic was Loan to Own given by Joel Swisher. Other portions of the in-service were readings, including Deacon’s Prayer and a poem written by Dottie Tonnies, a Foster Grandparent at Highland Elementary School.  Foster Grandparents from several locations who have died within the last year were remembered.  They were Sydnny Heimer, Alvera Bross, Wilma Weathers, Brenda Abby, Judy White, Rose Reed, Anna Hall, Vada Gregory and Dorus (Lee) Barnard. 

Following the meal, various recognitions and gifts were given to those in attendance.  These included the Foster Grandparents as well as representatives of volunteer stations, Heartland Resources and the Foster Grandparent Program Advisory Council.
