Rebecca Alma “Beco” Boudreau, 103 formerly of Quincy, Illinois and Steffenville, Missouri died April 27, 2018 at the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton, Missouri.

She was born on May 23, 1914 in Trenton, Missouri and was the daughter of L.A. and Jessica Marie Thomas Warden.

She was united in marriage to James L. Boudreau in June, 1942 at Trenton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2011.

Beco was always proud that she received, prior to World War II, three college degrees from the University of Missouri/Columbia-a B.S. for pre-med, a B.A. in education and a Master in English. She was a high school teacher and principal and served as Postmaster for Steffenville, Missouri for 25 years. Beco loved to travel and with her husband, James, went to Europe, Africa, Asia, South America, New Zealand and other islands of the South Pacific. She always enjoyed swimming and swam nearly daily at the Quincy YMCA throughout her seventies, eighties and early nineties. For many years she read a book each day and memorized a poem each month. She loved watching basketball and was an avid Quincy Blue Devils fan.

She is survived by four children, Jim Ann McConaghy and her husband Noel of Bell Plaine, Kansas, William L. “Pete” Boudreau and his wife Phyllis of Farmington, Iowa, Marie Brown and her husband Frank of Ewing, Mo. and Cason “Casey” Boudreau of Kansas City, Mo.; five grandchildren, Connie Smith and her husband Chris, Chad Boudreau and his wife Stacy, Angie Appleman and her husband Cam, Jim Brown and Tim Brown and his wife Kristen; six great-grandchildren, Quincy, Carley, Cason and Isabel Boudreau, Zeb and Melati Appleman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, James Warden Boudreau in infancy, a brother, Phillip Warden and a sister, Jessie Warden.

Honoring Beco’s request, there will be no services. Private family inurnment will be in the Steffenville Cemetery at a later date.

The family greatly appreciates the loving care given to Beco by the staff of the Lewis County Nursing Home.
