MITCH SOMMERS

Mitchell A. Sommers of Bourbon, Mo., died February 19, 2018 in Bourbon, MO at the age of 68 years, 10 months, and seven days.
 He was born April 12, 1949 in Quincy, Ill., to John Bayne Sommers and Mina Marcia Winters Sommers. He passed away on Monday, 
Mitch served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam war and earned a purple heart.
He was a farmer most of his adult life living in the Luray and Canton, Mo., area. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, deer hunting, camping and spending time with his family.


He is survived by his son Lonnie Sommers of Wyaconda, Mo; daughter Carrie (Jim) Buzzard of Cameron, Mo; wife Carol Busse of Bourbon, Mo; brothers Mike (Charlotte) Sommers of Canton, Mo; Johnny (Dian) Sommers of Indianapolis, Ind, Max (Lee) Sommers of Nappanee, Ind, Marty (Debbie) Sommers and sister Marcia Allison all of Canton, Mo; daughter-in-law Ronda Sommers of Kahoka, Mo; step-daughters Sheryl Granger of Sullivan, MO and Anna (Dan) Ware of Bourbon, Mo; step-son Jeremy (Breanne) Watson of Springfield, MO; grandchildren Levi Sommers, Layne Sommers, and Kolbie Hall; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Cody Sommers.




A Memorial Service will take place on March 3, 2018 at 11 a.m. with dinner to follow at Bluff Springs United Methodist Church in Canton, Mo.

Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, Mo. Arrangements under the care of Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Mo.
