ELVESA RUTH (CHIPMAN) WILLIAMSON

Elvesa Ruth (Chipman) Williamson, 88, of Pacific Grove, Calif., formerly of Maywood, Mo., died August 1, 2015 at her home in Pacific Groves.

She was born July 21, 1927 at Maywood, Mo., a daughter of Thomas Clarence and Lessie Leoma ?Chipman. She married James Walter Williamson and he preceded her in death on September 3, 2007.

 

She retired as a supervisor at McGraw-Hill after eighteen years. Elvesa was a member of Church of the Oaks and proudly served nine years as President of the Residents Council at Pacific Grove Convalescent Hospital. Her hobbies included painting and working on various handcrafts.

 

Elvesa is survived by her children, Arthur (Ethel) Swartzendruber of Kokomo, Indiana, Sharon Thompson of North Little Rock, Arkansas, William (Sharon) Williamson of Marina, James Brent (Cecile) Williamson of Marina and Penny Williamson of Ceres; her brothers, Vearl, Hobart and Terry (Barbara) Chipman, all of Missouri; her sister, Doris Garkie of Illinois; her grandchildren, Brian, Kent and Sid Swartzendruber, Rachelle Neufeld, Brent Micheal Williamson, Jenna Rangel and Kathryn Thompson and five great-grandchildren. Elvesa was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Larry Chipman and sister Hazel Chipman

Funeral services were held August 10, 2015 in the Durham United Methodist Church in Durham, MO with Pastor Steve Martin officiating.Visitation was held August 9, 2015 at the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing. Music provided by Marge Durst, organist and Donna Reid, vocalist. Pallbearers were : Brent Williamson, Glenn Chipman, Doug Garkie, David Garkie, Wayne Griep and Rick Duff.

Burial will be in the Durham Cemetery.
