JANIS A. (SHORES) ALLEN

Janis A. (Shores) Allen, 67, of Canton, Mo., died December 27, 2017 at her residence in Canton.

She was born February 26, 1950 in Canton, a daughter of Hermie and Ruth E. Caldwell Shores. She married David Allen on July 13, 1981 on the Mississippi River near Canton.

Janis lived most of her life in Canton. She was an avid animal lover. If she owned a farm all the animals would have had names. If one of those commercials about the Humane Society came on T.V. she would change channels.

Survivors include her son, Jamie Allen of Canton; two granddaughters, Ava Lanae Allen and Tylen Adelle Allen both of Canton and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Amber Allen, two brothers, Dick and Dale Shores and sister Judy Woodworth.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton with Pastor Paul Kinney officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until time of service in the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials be used to help defray funeral expenses.
