The Highland High School History Club will be sponsoring the annual Veterans Day Program at the Monticello Court House on Sunday, November 12 at 2 p.m.The Highland High School History Club built and dedicated the Veterans Memorial in front of the Court House in 1996. This is the 22nd anniversary. The American Legion Post 578 will be presenting colors. Highland High School History Club President Emily Dehner will give a speech. Guest speaker will be Bill Smith. Everyone invited.
Canton Veteran's Day Program
A Veteran's Day Program will be presented by fourth, fifth, and sixth graders at Canton R-V at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Nov 14. All veterans are welcome to attend.La Grange Lutheran Smorgasbord
St. Peter's Lutheran Ladies will hold it's annual Smorgasbord Saturday, November 4 at the church parish Hall in La Grange. The Bazar opens at 2 p.m./ Smorgasbord begins at 4:30 p.m.
Bazaar and Santa Express:
The CWF Bazaar and Santa Express will be held Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Canton Christian Church, 512 College Street, Canton. Cinnamon rolls will be served from 9 to 11 a.m. with a soup lunch served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Homemade food, quilt raffle, drawings, crafts and many vendors will be featured. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Bader Card Shower :
A card shower is requested for Dave Bader to help him celebrate his 85th birthday.Greeting may be sent to him at 1315 McRoberts Rd

Lord's Acre Lunch:
The Monticello United Methodist Church will host a Lord's Acre lunch and bazaar Nov. 2. Serving begins at 11 a.m. featuring turkey and all the trimmings, homemade rolls and pies. Everyone welcome.
Mason Dinner:
Craft Lodge 287 A.F.& A.M. will host their annual Ham and Bean or Beef and Noodles dinner Nov. 7 at the Masonic Hall, 612 Washington, Canton. Menu includes ham and beans, cornbread, beef and noodles, pie and drink. Serving 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Carry-outs available. Everyone welcome.
Town and Country Bank:
Town and County Bank Midwest in La Grange will be in their new facility and open for business on Monday, Nov. 6. The new building is across Main street from their present location. There will be no interruption of service for their customers. The bank will also be a drop off point for Toys for Tots. They are collecting new unwrapped toys and will have a canister for monetary donations through early December.
Turkey Buffet Dinner:
The Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ewing will host a buffet style turkey dinner Nov 5. with serving from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A raffle will also be held. Everyone is welcome to come.
