KARL FRANKLIN BISHOFF

Karl Franklin Bishoff, 82, of Canton, Mo., died October 27, 2017 in Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Karl was born January 18, 1935, in Williamstown, Mo., son of Roy and Pearl Bishoff. He married Sharron Lillard March 15, 1959 in Providence Baptist Church, Williamstown, Mo. She passed away April 22, 2016.

Karl retired as Vice President of Finance at Ayers Oil Co. after 47 years, was a partner of Klataske Auto Sales in Lewistown for over 40 years, and a US Army Veteran. He graduated from Williamstown High School and Gem City College. Karl was a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church in Canton. He also served on the Canton R-V School Board, where he was elected secretary in 1975. He was treasurer and on the Board of Directors of the Sun and Surf Swim Club and was a member of the Canton Chamber of Commerce, a past Master of Craft Lodge 287 A.F. & A.M., and member of Unity Chapter 151 OES. He is remembered for his love of music, his family, and laughter, as well as his generosity, wisdom, and the respect he commanded from all.

Survivors include daughters Leigh Ann Stiehl (Kevin) of Wildwood, Kim Porter (Jim) of Ursa, Ill.,and Karyn Thompson (Mike) of Chesterfield; six grandchildren, Alison and Drew Stiehl, Tim and Tyler Porter, and Abby and Lola Thompson; brothers-in-law Kent Lillard (Wendy) of Kansas City and Dan Lillard (Val) of Beloit, WI; sisters-in-law Linda Riggs (Dave) and Dixie Smith; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers Kenneth Bishoff, Keith Bishoff and Karol Roy Bishoff; sisters Donna Bishoff Hudnut, Gynell Bishoff Hudnut, Louise Bishoff Ridgely, Frankie Bishoff in infancy; and brothers-in-law Allen Lillard and Norman Lillard.

Funeral services were held October 30, 2017 at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Lonnie Nelson officiating.  Visitation was held Oct. 29, with a Masonic Service, at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton.

Burial was in Providence Cemetery near Williamstown, Mo.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Providence Cemetery or to the Lewis County Nursing Home Auxillary.
