DAVID BROOKS

David L. Brooks, 56 of Canton, Missouri died April 27, 2017 at his home in Canton. The son of David H. Brooks and Mary (Smith) Logsdon was born on September 23, 1960 in Fulton County, Georgia. He was united in marriage to Rachel Kay (Atkins) Wilson on August 26, 2016 at Hannibal, Missouri. David had served as Assistant Fire Chief and First Responder on the Canton R-V Fire Protection District and he worked as an EMT for the Lewis County Ambulance District. He was a local businessman, coached softball, liked to travel and loved to spend time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Wilson of Canton, Mo.; three daughters by his former wife, Christina Carter, Stacie Brooks and Lauren Brooks all of Canton; five grandchildren, Hailey Brooks, Keaton Boltz, Isaac Armstrong, Malachi Schluter and Denver Schluter; aunts and uncles, Norma May of Florida, Charlie Ann of Alabama, Bobby Smith of Georgia, Roy Smith of Mississippi, Charles Mayfield of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Seldon Logsdon, brother, Michael James Brooks and a step-sister, Sonya Logsdon. Graveside memorial services and inurnment will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Cemetery, St. Patrick, Missouri with Father Christopher Aubuchon officiating. Firefighter Honors presented by Canton R-V Fire Protection District. Honorary Pallbearers: David Budde, Justin Allison, Members of the Canton R-V Fire Department and Members of the Lewis County Ambulance District. Visitation will be held Friday evening, May 5, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton. Memorials may be made to the Canton R-V Fire and Rescue or the Lewis County Ambulance District.
