VEVA SANDY KEARNS

Veva ȐSandyȑ J. Kearns, 84 of Canton, Missouri diedApril 1, 2017 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. The daughter of Roscoe and Wilma Bourgeois Colvin was born on June 24, 1932 at Kahoka, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Virgil A. ȐChubȑ Kearns, Jr. on July 7, 1949 at Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2005. Sandy grew up on a farm prior to marrying ȐChubȑ. Coming to Canton she worked at Mac’s Truck Stop, Mississippi Valley Textile, Canton Custom Cleaners and managed the Deter’s Dairy Store in Canton and eventually worked at The Hat Rack Café. She enjoyed having big dinners, baking pies and banana breads to give to people. She liked to work flower beds and start seed plants. She enjoyed family outings and the Ȑcoffee break gossipȑ. She is survived by two sons, Max Kearns of Wyaconda, Mo. and Monty Kearns of Canton, Mo.; two grandchildren, Bridie (Matt) Kearns Schlotter of Canton, Mo. and Matt (Amanda) Kearns of Palmyra, Mo.; two great-grandchildren, Cameron Kearns and Tatum Kearns Childress; a great-great-grandson, Nolan Childress; a brother, Edwin (Becky) Colvin of Wyaconda, Mo.; a sister, Margret Ann (Kenneth) Clark of Quincy, Il.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Brandie Kearns and two sister, Wilma St. Clair and Mary Louise Venghous. A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 5 until 7 p.m at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton. Inurnment will be Saturday, April 8, 2017 in the Wyaconda Cemetery at Wyaconda, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the Wyaconda Cemetery Association.
