DOROTHY BROWN

Dorothy E. Brown, 84, of Quincy, February 1, 2017 at 10:15 p.m. in Blessing Hospital. She was born May 8, 1932 in Lewistown, Missouri, the daughter of Stanley Morris and Jemma Edna McElwee Vaughan. On October 12, 1950, she married Darrel M. Brown in LaGrange, Missouri. She was a graduate of Lewistown High School and received her L.P.N. #2 degree from John Wood Community College. She retired from nursing after 15 years at the Illinois Veterans’ Home. She was a member of Madison Park Christian Church. Survivors include two sons: Gregory M. (Denise) Brown of Griggsville, IL; and Stanley P. (Jennifer) Brown of Quincy; a daughter, Jana (Dennis) Loofbourrow of Joshua, TX; six grandchildren: Tonya McLaughlin of Good Hope, IL; Jacob Brown of Quincy, IL; Kiala (Aaron) Meyers of Quincy; Stanley L. Brown of Quincy; Dennise L. Loofbourrow of Midlothian, TX; and Dianna (Matthew) Kleeman of Joshua, TX; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017 at Madison Park Christian Church with Rev. Keith Eheresman officiating. Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m. February 8, 2017 at Madison Park Christian Church.
