Mrs. Betty J. Meyer, age 87, of Canton, Mo., died January 19, 2017 at the Lewis County Nursing Home at Canton. Betty was born November 24, 1929 at Monticello, Mo., a daughter of Franklin P. and Mary Bernice Bronestine Fishback. She married Donald Lee Lowe on May 7, 1947 in Palmyra, Mo. and he died July 30, 1959. She married Robert Lee Meyer on December 13, 1961 in Canton, Mo. He survives. Betty’s first loves were her husband, children and grandchildren. She had a very strong love in her faith of the Lord and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canton. Helping people was a great passion of hers from nutrition with Shaklee products, to foot reflexology. Her hands during any spare time were busy knitting or crocheting. She always made sure her bird feeders were full and ready for birds to come in--she loved watching them outside. For several years she coached 10 full teams of junior bowlers. She and Bob loved dancing on Friday and Saturday nights if nephew Tony’s band was playing somewhere. Betty was a member of Eagles 1800 Auxiliary, had served on the Canton Council of Churches and was a charter member of the Lewis County Nursing Home Auxiliary Survivors include her husband Robert Lee Meyer of Canton; one son, Mike (Cheryl) Lowe of LaGrange; two daughters, Marcia (Jerry) Job of La Grange, KY and Debby (Roger) Hetzler of Canton; grandchildren, Heidi (Darrin) Kline of Quincy, Michelle (Charles) King of Canton, Pam (Buford) Smith of La Grange, KY, Brent Job and fiancé Shelly Clark of La Grange, KY, Tiffany (Don) Black of Stafford, VA, Tiffany Ellis of Kirksville, MO, Trent Lowe and girlfriend Kristy Hawkins of Canton and Jacob Hetzler and girlfriend Jaclyn Sweet of Canton; great grandchildren, Alec and Reese Kline, Lissa, Kaylie and Karlie King, Jesse and Kirsten Smith, Madison Job, Cody and Aiden Black, Navarone Ellis, Chelsi Hall and her son Kingstin , Shelbi Hall and her children Brodi and Brogin and extended great grandchildren, Brianna Paulsen and Alainah Hawkins; sister, Doris (Harry) Higgins of Keokuk, IA; brother, Ronald (Louise) Fishback of Osceola, WI and a niece and several nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, sister Sue Job and granddaughters Dawn Job and Missy Lowe. Visitation will be held Sunday January 29, 2017 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Milton Baumgardner officiating.Music: Tony Job, vocalist. Pallbearers: Trent Lowe, Jacob Hetzler, Denny Job, Jeff Job, Tony Job and Tracy Job. Honorary Pallbearers: Brent Job, Charles King, Darrin Kline, Buford Smith, Navarone Ellis and Don Black. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton. The family suggests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Kitchen Committee of Canton or the Council of Churches also of Canton.
