TERESA BELT

Teresa M. Belt, 60, of Augusta, Ill., died November 25, 2016 in Blessing Hospital in Quincy. She was born on November 25, 1956 in Quincy, Ill., to Harold and Evelyn McLaughlin Johnston. She was married to John Belt on December 4, 1976 in Maywood, Mo. Teresa was a graduate of Highland High School. She was a longtime cook for Ma & Pa’s Café in Plymouth and presently KD’s Coop in Plymouth. She enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, mushroom hunting and helping work on the farm. Her most cherished times were spent with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Mandy (Chris) Smith of Augusta, Lacy Crump of Augusta, a step-daughter, Jenica (Tony) Weerts of Augusta, her mother, Evelyn Johnston of Maywood, Mo., four grandchildren, Johnathan, Amber, Abbey and Jayden, two brothers, Reggie Johnston of Quincy and Steven (Peggy) Johnston of Durham, MO, and her fiancé, Tim Miller of Augusta, Ill. She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral services were held November 30, 2016 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, Ill., by Rev Patsy and Rev. Jerry Spratt. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Augusta. Memorial contributions may be made to her family or the Augusta Lions Club Children’s Park Project. The Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL is handling arrangements.
