ALFRED SCHUMACHER

Alfred C. Schumacher, 88 of Monticello, Missouri died November 22, 2016 at the Westview Nursing Home in Center, Missouri. The son of Arthur and Margaret Goodwin Schumacher was born on October 5, 1928 at Clinton, Iowa. Al served in the U.S. Navy. He was a union plasterer worker and a member of the Masonic Lodge in St. Louis, Mo. He also bordered dogs in St. Louis, raised hogs and he invented and patented a tennis racket stringing machine. He is survived by two nephews, Dan (Mary Ellis) Vertz of Showlow, Arizona and Dale (Mary Jo) Vertz of Two Rivers, Wisconsin; niece in law, Mary Lee Vertz of Pensacola, Florida; nephew in law, Clarence Kornetzky of Manitowoc, Wisconsin; and special friends, Rick and Karen Porter of Lewistown, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold Schumacher. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
